    phrase final negative marker; usually occurs in conjunction with one of the preverbal negative particles មិន, ពុំ, អត់, ឥត or combinations of these particles with other preverbal particles, e.g. មិនដែល់ i no
    Eg. ឆ្កែខាំមនុស្ស​មិនមែនជាដំណឹងទេ​ តែ​មនុស្សខាំឆ្កែ​ទើបបានជាដំណឹង: ``Dog Bites Man'' is not news, but ``Man Bites Dog'' is.

    phrase final interrogative particle marking a yes-no question
    Eg. យប់ងងឹតអញ្ចឹង តើលោកតាមើលឃើញអ្វីខ្លះទេ?: On such a dark night, can you see anything?

    phrase final emphatic particle
    Eg. អណ្ដើក​ឃើញស្រែកប្រាប់ទៅគីង្គក់ថា វា​នៅៗនេះទេ​!: The turtle saw (the tiger) and shouted to the toad, ``He's still here!''
