1. អើយ ( i ) [ʔaəy, ʔəəy]
   familiar vocative particle used after names of persons, titles, kinship terms and certain other words to indicate affection, pity, depression, or despair. In some cases, with inanimate words, it may serve to personify them. It may also be used in calling someone or trying to attract someone's attention
   Eg. សំឡាញ់អើយ: friend, buddy;
