Ixoras need a warm, frost-free climate to grow outdoors as they are frost tender; in the tropics, they appreciate a part-shaded position, and in cooler climates they are grown in greenhouses. Humus-rich, moist but freely drained, friable soils and high humidity suit them best; and they need regular water during the warmer months. Propagate from cuttings in summer or from seed in spring.
